Al-Ahli Jeddah Triumphs Over Kawasaki Frontale in AFC Champions League Final
Jeddah, May 3, 2025 – Al-Ahli Jeddah claimed the 2024 AFC Champions League title after a convincing 2-0 victory against Kawasaki Frontale at the Al Inma Bank Stadium at King Abdullah Sport City. The match, officiated by Ibrahim Al-Jassim Abdulrahman from Qatar, was characterized by the Saudi team’s offensive dominance.
Galeno opened the scoring in the 35th minute, assisted by Roberto Firmino, and Kessie doubled the lead in the 42nd minute, also with an assist from Firmino. Despite Kawasaki Frontale’s higher possession (52%), Al-Ahli Jeddah’s effectiveness in attack was key. The Saudis had 16 shots, 7 on target, while the Japanese team failed to put any of their 7 attempts on target.
