Al Ahli Doha staged a thrilling comeback against Al Sadd in the 11th round of the Stars League, played at the Al Thumama Stadium in Doha on December 7th, 2024. Despite falling behind early to a goal from Akram Afif in the 13th minute, assisted by Giovani, Al Ahli Doha showed resilience. In the second half, Draxler struck again (52nd minute), this time assisted by Yansane, putting his team ahead. Afif pulled one back for Al Sadd in the 59th minute, but the final result favored Al Ahli Doha. The match was characterized by its intensity, with numerous fouls and yellow cards for both teams. Al Ahli Doha dominated possession with 52%, had 11 shots (5 on target), and earned 1 corner; while Al Sadd had 48% possession and 8 shots (3 on target), along with 3 corners. Despite the superior number of shots on target, Al Ahli Doha’s efficiency and some defensive lapses from Al Sadd proved decisive.
