CSKA Moscow defeated Akhmat Grozny 2-1 in a thrilling match at the Akhmat Arena in Grozny. The game, corresponding to round 27 of the Russian Premier League, was marked by an equal number of goal-scoring opportunities, although CSKA’s greater possession (65%) translated into greater effectiveness. S. Koita opened the scoring for CSKA in the 9th minute, while M. Samorodov equalized for Akhmat in the 33rd minute. The visiting victory was defined in the second half, after a series of cautions to both teams: I. Oblyakov, A. Fayzullaev and Khellven from CSKA, and T. Ibishev from Akhmat, received yellow cards. Despite Akhmat’s reaction, who made several changes, CSKA maintained defensive solidity and managed to take the win. The match was characterized by its intensity, with a total of 28 fouls committed.
