AFC Wimbledon Edges Out Wycombe in a Hard-Fought Match
London, England – AFC Wimbledon secured a valuable home victory against Wycombe in a match where, despite the visitors dominating possession, the hosts proved more effective in front of goal.
AFC Wimbledon opened the scoring early, in the 11th minute, with a goal from O. Bugiel following an excellent assist from S. Seddon. The duo shone again in the 32nd minute, this time with Seddon scoring, assisted by Bugiel, extending the lead in favor of the home side.
Wycombe reacted in the second half, pulling one back in the 60th minute thanks to E. Henderson, who received a precise assist from F. Onyedinma. However, despite maintaining significantly more ball possession (67% compared to AFC Wimbledon’s 33%) and generating more shots (9 against 6) and corners (7 against 0), Wycombe couldn’t equalize. AFC Wimbledon’s effectiveness, managing to convert two of their six shots, proved decisive. The match, officiated by Scott Jackson at The Cherry Red Records Stadium, culminated in a victory for the home team on the tenth matchday of League One.
