AEK Athens Dominates Anderlecht at OPAP Arena
Athína (Athens), August 28, 2025 – AEK Athens defeated Anderlecht at the OPAP Arena in a match corresponding to the playoff round of the UEFA Europa Conference League. The match, refereed by Rohit Saggi (Norway), saw the Greek team dominate the scoreboard with a victory.
AEK Athens, despite having 41% possession compared to Anderlecht’s 59%, made better use of their opportunities. They opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a goal by A. Koita, assisted by N. Eliasson. The lead was quickly extended at the start of the second half, in the 48th minute, with a goal by D. Kutesa, assisted by O. Pineda.
Anderlecht, although with greater possession and a total of 12 shots (4 on target), failed to convert their chances. The game was characterized by intensity, with several yellow cards shown to players from both teams. C. S. Huerta Valera (19′), K. Dolberg (23′), N. Angulo (85′) and E. Llansana (90′) were cautioned for Anderlecht, while L. Rota (59′) saw the yellow card for AEK Athens. The match ended with a victory for AEK Athens FC over Anderlecht.
