ADT Defeats Sport Boys in Thrilling Tarma Encounter
The Estadio Municipal Unión de Tarma hosted a thrilling match between ADT and Sport Boys, corresponding to matchday four of the 2025 Peruvian Primera División Apertura. ADT secured a 3-2 victory despite Sport Boys enjoying greater possession (65%).
The match started with a yellow card to Sport Boys’ Almirón in the 4th minute. ADT had a blazing start. Cedrón missed a penalty in the 7th minute but immediately scored a goal from open play. Vidales extended ADT’s lead in the 21st minute, also assisted by Cedrón. Sport Boys pulled one back before halftime with a goal from Hohberg in the 40th minute.
The second half was even more intense. Several yellow cards and one red card were shown. Da Luz and Bersano received yellow cards for ADT, while Mora and Rios (twice) received yellows and Rios a red for Sport Boys. Moyano of ADT also received a red card. A Montenegro own goal in the 77th minute sealed the 3-2 victory for Sport Boys.
Despite the defeat, Sport Boys had more shots (11 vs 12) and more corners (6 vs 2) than ADT, showcasing their dominance in the attacking third. However, ADT’s effectiveness in attack, particularly in the first half, proved to be the difference in a match filled with emotion and controversial refereeing decisions.
