Aberdeen Dominates Dundee United in Possession-Heavy Victory
Aberdeen secured a 2-1 victory over Dundee United at Pittodrie Stadium on March 2nd, 2025. Despite a significant possession advantage (73% for Aberdeen compared to 27% for Dundee United), the match was far from a straightforward win for the home side.
Dundee United took a surprising early lead through V. Sevelj in the 20th minute, assisted by G. Middleton. However, their lead was short-lived. An offside goal and a yellow card for E. In the second half, Aberdeen asserted their dominance. K. Nisbet scored two goals, the first in the 75th minute assisted by A. Jensen and the second in the 90th minute assisted by M. Knoester, securing the victory. Aberdeen’s dominance was evident in their shot count: 20 attempts (2 on target, 9 off target) compared to Dundee United’s 11 (3 on target, 3 off target). Aberdeen also enjoyed a significant corner-kick advantage (14 to 5). Referee D. Robertson issued two yellow cards, one to each team.
