Celtic Thrashes Aberdeen in Thrilling Match
Celtic secured a convincing five-two victory over Aberdeen in a thrilling match played at Pittodrie Stadium in Aberdeen on May 14th, 2025. The game, part of the 4th round of the second phase of the Scottish Premiership, was dominated by Celtic’s superior possession and numerous goal-scoring opportunities.
M. Nawrocki opened the scoring for Celtic in the 31st minute, assisted by L. McCowan. Aberdeen responded quickly with a goal from K. Nisbet in the 42nd minute, assisted by P. Gueye, to level the score before halftime. However, Yang Hyun-Jun put Celtic back in the lead before the break. In the second half, Celtic showcased their dominance, with goals from L. McCowan (48th minute), J. Kenny (54th minute), and A. Idah (90th minute). Aberdeen, meanwhile, suffered from numerous cards, including a red card for A. Dorrington in the 78th minute, hampering their comeback attempt. Statistics reflected Celtic’s dominance: 68% possession, 23 shots (12 on target), compared to Aberdeen’s 32% possession and 12 shots (4 on target).
