Kaizer Chiefs Triumph Over ZESCO United in CAF Confederation Cup Clash
Johannesburg, South Africa – In a spirited match held at the FNB Stadium, Kaizer Chiefs emerged victorious against ZESCO United in the fourth round of the CAF Confederation Cup. Kaizer Chiefs dominated possession with 53% compared to ZESCO United’s 47%, with the home team securing the win thanks to a goal by M. Lilepo in the 14th minute, assisted by M. Vilakazi.
Despite having more possession, Kaizer Chiefs struggled to convert their chances, managing only two shots on target out of nine attempts. ZESCO United, on the other hand, managed four shots on target from a total of ten attempts, demonstrating a greater efficiency in attack, although failing to break through the opponent’s defense.
The match was characterized by physical play, with 11 fouls committed by Kaizer Chiefs and 15 by ZESCO United. The referee issued two yellow cards to Kaizer Chiefs players: T. Mabaso in the 59th minute and B. Petersen in the 90th minute.
