Guatemala Defeats Dominican Republic in Goal-Filled Match
Guatemala City – In an exciting match played at the Estadio Cementos Progreso, Guatemala defeated the Dominican Republic with a score of 4 to 2, in a match corresponding to the second round of the CONCACAF qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
The match, played on June 7, 2025, was dynamic from the start. Óscar Santis opened the scoring for Guatemala in the 6th minute, assisted by Jesús Morales. However, the Dominican Republic quickly responded with a goal by D. Romero in the 16th minute, leveling the score.
The first half continued to be closely contested, and H. Morschel put the Dominicans ahead in the 36th minute. The Guatemalan team, with greater ball possession (52%), did not back down and sought the tie.
