Hibernian Edges out ST Mirren in Thrilling Paisley Encounter
Hibernian secured a 2-3 victory over ST Mirren in a pulsating match at The SMISA Stadium in Paisley. The game, part of the 2024 Scottish Premiership’s second phase, round 4, was officiated by C. Graham. Possession was closely contested, with ST Mirren holding a slight edge at 52% compared to Hibernian’s 48%.
Hibernian took an early lead with Boyle scoring in the 3rd minute, assisted by Hoilett. Kukharevych doubled the lead ten minutes later, again assisted by Hoilett. ST Mirren pulled one back before half-time through Taylor (45′). McMenamin scored for ST Mirren in the second half (65′), but it wasn’t enough to prevent Hibernian from securing the win.
The match saw several yellow cards: three for Hibernian (Obita, Triantis, Bowie) and three for ST Mirren (John, Ayunga, Fraser). Despite ST Mirren’s higher possession and more shots (10 to 8), Hibernian proved more clinical in front of goal.
