IMT Novi Beograd secured a victory against a depleted Cukaricki in a thrilling match at the Stadion na Banovom brdu. The game, part of the Relegation Round – Matchday 5 of the 2024 Serbian Super Liga, ended with a 1-2 scoreline in favor of IMT Novi Beograd.
The match was marked by the expulsion of L. Stojanovic from Cukaricki in the 45th minute, leaving his team with a man down for almost the entire second half. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Cukaricki showed resilience and managed to score late in the game thanks to a goal from Pavkov. However, the goal came too late to prevent the defeat.
V. Radocaj scored the opening goal for IMT Novi Beograd in the 25th minute, giving his team an early lead. IMT Novi Beograd dominated much of the game, registering more shots on target than their opponent (4 vs 3). Statistics reflect a close game in terms of possession (52% for Cukaricki and 48% for IMT Novi Beograd), but IMT Novi Beograd’s numerical superiority and effectiveness were key to their victory. The match was also marred by numerous yellow cards for both Cukaricki and IMT Novi Beograd.
