Olympiakos Piraeus Edges Out Panathinaikos in Tense Encounter
Athens, May 11, 2025 – Olympiakos Piraeus secured a 1-0 victory over Panathinaikos at the Olympiako Stadio Spyros Louis in a fiercely contested match, concluding the sixth round of the Greek Super League 1 championship round. A. El Kaabi’s 59th-minute penalty proved to be the decisive goal. While Panathinaikos had more shots on goal (14 to 9, with 5 on target), Olympiakos’s efficiency in front of goal made the difference. Possession was evenly split at 50%, with Panathinaikos earning 8 corners and Olympiakos 5. Olympiakos committed significantly more fouls (16 to Panathinaikos’ 6). The yellow cards handed out to both sides highlighted the intensity of the game.
