Mirandés Stages Comeback to Defeat Castellón in Thrilling Match
Miranda de Ebro, May 10, 2025.- The Estadio Municipal de Anduva hosted a thrilling encounter between Mirandés and Castellón in Round 39 of Spain’s Segunda División. Despite Castellón enjoying more possession (56%), Mirandés secured a 3-2 victory.
Izeta opened the scoring for Mirandés in the 24th minute. Castellón equalized through R. Sánchez in the 44th minute. The second half was even more intense. Mirandés regained the lead with a goal from P. Tomeo in the 70th minute. Castellón accumulated three yellow cards in the 65th, 68th, and 78th minutes. Although Cipenga scored for Castellón in the 87th minute, I. Benito’s goal in the 81st minute secured the win for Mirandés. The match ended with five yellow cards: two for Mirandés and three for Castellón. Mirandés, despite having less possession (44%), registered more shots on target (5 compared to Castellón’s 8).
