AS Monaco defeated Saint-Étienne 3-2 in a thrilling match at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Étienne. The game, corresponding to matchday 32 of the 2024 Ligue 1 season, was played on May 3rd, 2025, under the watchful eye of referee Jérôme Brisard.
Monaco started strongly, opening the scoring in the 2nd minute thanks to a goal from Akliouche, assisted by Caio Henrique. Saint-Étienne responded and equalized in the 65th minute with a goal from Davitashvili, assisted by Tardieu. Monaco then responded decisively, scoring two more goals in the 68th and 78th minutes, courtesy of Al Musrati and Balogun respectively. Al Musrati’s goal was assisted by Zakaria, while Balogun’s was assisted by Akliouche. Despite Saint-Étienne’s late push, Monaco secured the victory.
Saint-Étienne dominated possession (60%), registering 11 shots (only 1 on target), while Monaco, with 40% possession, were more clinical with their 12 shots, 6 of which were on target. Both teams played an intense game, reflected in the numerous fouls committed (15 by Saint-Étienne and 12 by Monaco).
