Burnley Thrashes QPR in Thrilling Loftus Road Encounter
Burnley secured a resounding 5-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers at the MATRADE Loftus Road in London, in a Championship matchday 45 clash. The game, officiated by James Linington, was dominated by the visitors, who controlled possession (63%) and created numerous scoring opportunities.
Burnley’s goals came early, courtesy of Cullen (9th minute) and Flemming (20th and 28th minutes), putting the game beyond QPR’s reach. In the second half, Sarmiento added two more goals (62nd and 90th minutes) to seal the victory.
Despite the defeat, QPR managed a few attacks, but their lack of precision prevented them from troubling the Burnley goalkeeper. The difference in shots on target was significant: 10 for Burnley and only 2 for QPR. The match saw a number of yellow cards, with 4 shown to QPR and 2 to Burnley.
