Unirea Slobozia and Politehnica Iasi played a thrilling match in the 6th round of the Romanian Liga I relegation round, held at Clinceni – Arena 1 in Clinceni on April 25th, 2025. The match, refereed by Adrian Viorel Cojocaru, ended with a two-to-one victory for Politehnica Iasi.
Unirea Slobozia took the lead in the 45th minute with a goal from D. Serbanica. However, Politehnica Iasi responded in the second half, equalizing with a goal from J. Marchioni in the 67th minute. The game was marked by tension, with a total of six yellow cards and two red cards, one for each team (I. Coada for Unirea Slobozia and S. Camara for Politehnica Iasi). Despite Camara’s expulsion, Politehnica Iasi showed more attacking prowess, with 16 shots (6 on target) compared to Unirea Slobozia’s 13 (2 on target). Possession was fairly even, with Unirea Slobozia holding 52% and Politehnica Iasi 48%. Despite a late disallowed goal for offside, Politehnica Iasi secured the victory.
