Kashima Antlers Edges Nagoya Grampus in Thrilling Match at Kashima Soccer Stadium
Kashima, Japan – Kashima Antlers secured a 1-0 victory over Nagoya Grampus in a hard-fought match at the Kashima Soccer Stadium on April 25th, in the 12th round of the 2025 J1 League. The only goal of the game came in the 54th minute, courtesy of K. Chinen, who finished a superb assist from N. Ueda.
Despite having slightly less possession (47% compared to Nagoya Grampus’ 53%), Kashima Antlers proved more clinical in front of goal. They managed 10 shots, 7 of which were on target, while Nagoya Grampus only managed 2 shots on target despite dominating possession. The match was a physical encounter, with a total of 18 fouls committed. A. Cavric of Kashima received a yellow card in the 41st minute. The referee was Koichiro Fukushima. The win provides Kashima Antlers with crucial three points in their league campaign.
