Sporting CP defeats Rio Ave in thrilling Taça de Portugal semi-final
Paços de Ferreira, April 22, 2025 – Sporting CP edged past Rio Ave with a 2-1 victory in a captivating Taça de Portugal semi-final clash at the Estádio da Capital do Móvel. The match, officiated by Helder Filipe Claudio Carvalho, was characterized by Sporting CP’s attacking prowess and intensity.
The Lions took the lead early on through a goal by Gonçalo Inácio in the 11th minute, assisted by Viktor Gyökeres. Gyökeres doubled the lead in the 50th minute with an unassisted goal.
