Lille secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Auxerre in a match played at the Decathlon Arena – Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille on April 20th, 2025, corresponding to matchday 30 of Ligue 1. The home side dominated possession (57%) and were more clinical in front of goal, registering 13 shots, 7 of which were on target. The game was marked by Lille’s superiority, who opened the scoring with a goal from Meunier in the 9th minute (assisted by David). David scored again in the 43rd minute (assisted by Fernandez-Pardo) to extend the lead. Auxerre attempted a comeback but were outmatched in all aspects of the game. Despite two yellow cards for Auxerre (Massengo and Jubal), their lack of accuracy in their shots (6 shots with only 2 on target) prevented a more significant reaction. An own goal by Alexsandro in the 90th minute reduced the deficit, but David completed his hat-trick in the same minute, sealing the victory.
