LDU Quito Dominates Deportivo Táchira in Libertadores Clash
Quito, April 10, 2025.- Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Deportivo Táchira FC at the Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado in the second matchday of the 2025 CONMEBOL Libertadores group stage. The match, officiated by Peruvian referee Joel Alarcon, saw LDU Quito control possession with 54% of the ball.
Despite receiving two yellow cards (Cristian Gruezo at 7′ and Gilberto Alala Menendez at 17′), LDU Quito dominated the attacking play, registering 23 shots on goal, 8 of which were on target. Deportivo Táchira, with 46% possession, managed fewer chances (10 shots, 3 on target) and received one yellow card to Edwuin Tamiche at minute 43.
Alexander Arce’s two goals (73′ and 83′) sealed the victory for LDU Quito. The first goal was assisted by Bryan Ramirez Leon. The win puts LDU Quito in a strong position in the Libertadores group stage.
