Velez Sarsfield thrashes Olimpia in Asunción

Velez Sarsfield achieved a resounding 4-0 victory over Olimpia in a match corresponding to the second matchday of the 2025 CONMEBOL Libertadores group stage, played at the Defensores del Chaco Stadium in Asunción, Paraguay. The match, refereed by Piero Maza (Chile), was dominated by the Argentinian team despite having less possession (42%).

Braian Romero opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a field goal, assisted by E. Gomez. Before halftime, Romero scored again, this time from a penalty, in the 49th minute. In the second half, Maximiliano Carrizo extended the lead in the 56th minute thanks to an assist from A. Montoro.
