KV Mechelen Rout Dender in Thrilling Match
KV Mechelen secured a convincing 5-2 victory over Dender EH at the AFAS Stadion in Mechelen, Belgium. The match, part of the Conference League Play-off Group – 2 in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, was officiated by Wesli De Cremer. The home side dominated the offensive play throughout the game.
KV Mechelen controlled possession (52%) and created numerous scoring opportunities, converting five of them. N. Storm opened the scoring in the 10th minute, assisted by P. Pflucke. L. Lauberbach added a second goal in the 14th minute (assisted by J. Marsa), and R. Schoofs netted two consecutive goals before halftime (minutes 21 and 42). Lauberbach scored again in the second half (minute 57).
Dender, despite having less possession (48%), managed to create several goal-scoring chances, scoring twice in the second half through B. Nsimba (minute 60) and M. Berte (minute 90). However, the difference in goal-scoring efficiency proved decisive. KV Mechelen had 20 shots, 10 on target, while Dender managed only 9 shots, 4 on target.
Dender received one yellow card, while KV Mechelen finished the game without any cautions.
