Albacete suffered a defeat against Castellón in a thrilling match at the Estadio SkyFi Castalia. The game, corresponding to matchday 34 of the Segunda División, ended with a 2-3 scoreline in favor of the home team. Castellón dominated possession (74%) and took a high number of shots (27, 6 on target). Albacete, despite having less possession (26%), showed efficiency in attack, scoring two goals.
The match started with early goals. In the 2nd minute, Pablo Saenz opened the scoring for Albacete thanks to an assist from R. Rodriguez. However, Castellón quickly equalized with a penalty converted by I. Suero in the 7th minute. Before half-time, C. M. Kofane put Albacete ahead (38′). In the second half, Castellón overturned the score thanks to a goal from N. Markanich in the 83rd minute, assisted by J. de Miguel. Castellón finished the game with two yellow cards for Markanich and Willems. Albacete also received one yellow card. Despite their numerical and possession advantage, Castellón had a goal disallowed for offside in the closing stages.
