Coquimbo Unido snatched a dramatic victory over Audax Italiano in a thrilling match played at the Estadio Bicentenario Francisco Sánchez Rumoroso in Coquimbo. The encounter, corresponding to the sixth round of the Chilean Primera División in the 2025 season, ended with a 2-1 scoreline in favor of the home team.
Felipe Salinas opened the scoring early, at the 5th minute, with a goal assisted by Juan Cornejo. However, the match was characterized by a high number of yellow cards, with Coquimbo Unido accumulating five and Audax Italiano only one. Despite Audax Italiano’s superior possession (51%), Coquimbo Unido was more effective in attack, generating 13 shots, 5 of them on target.
In the closing minutes, the game became even more exciting. At the 90th minute, Nicolás Johansen converted a penalty to make it 2-0, but immediately afterward, Pablo Guajardo pulled one back for Audax Italiano. Coquimbo Unido’s victory, however, was undeniable, crowning a performance full of grit and effectiveness despite the large number of cautions received.
