South Korea Edges Out Jordan in Possession-Dominated Match
Suwon, March 25, 2025 – South Korea secured a 2-1 victory over Jordan in a World Cup 2026 Asian qualifier (Group 8, 3rd Round) at the Suwon World Cup Stadium. The match, officiated by Ilgiz Tantashev from Uzbekistan, was characterized by South Korea’s overwhelming possession.
Lee Jae-Sung opened the scoring in the 5th minute with an assist from Son Heung-Min, giving the home side the lead. Jordan responded with a goal from M. Al Mardi in the 30th minute, equalizing the score. However, South Korea’s dominance ultimately translated into a victory.
