Peru Triumphs Over Bolivia in Thrilling Lima Encounter
Lima, March 21, 2025.- Peru defeated Bolivia 3-1 in an exciting World Cup 2026 South American Qualifying Group Stage match played at the Estadio Nacional de Lima. The match, officiated by Yael Falcon Perez of Argentina, was characterized by Peruvian dominance in the first half and a Bolivian comeback attempt in the second.
The home side quickly took the lead with two first-half goals. At the 38th minute, Alex Valera Polo opened the scoring with an assist from Bryan Reyna, and Paolo Guerrero doubled the lead just before halftime, assisted by Polo.
Bolivia pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 58th minute thanks to Miguelito. However, Peru sealed the victory with a goal from Edison Flores in the 82nd minute.
Despite Bolivia registering 13 shots (5 on target), Peru controlled possession (52%) and managed 12 shots (7 on target), demonstrating greater efficiency. The final score reflected Peru’s dominance throughout much of the game.
