Newport County Rout Harrogate Town in Thrilling Rodney Parade Encounter
Casnewydd, Wales – Newport County secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Harrogate Town in a League Two match played at Rodney Parade on Friday, March 15th, 2025. Despite having less possession (40%), the home side proved more clinical in front of goal.
The match started at a fast pace. C. Evans opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, assisted by S. McLoughlin. C. Baker-Richardson doubled the lead in the 15th minute, thanks to a pass from A. Driscoll-Glennon. Harrogate Town tried to fight back, but the Newport County defense held firm. J. Clarke added a third goal in the 61st minute, without an assist.
Although Harrogate Town dominated possession (60%) and had more shots (17 to 12), the home side’s accuracy and efficiency in front of goal were key to their victory. Both teams had 10 corner kicks and a similar number of fouls: 10 for Newport County and 5 for Harrogate Town. Referee J. O’Connor oversaw a clean match with no yellow or red cards.
