Palermo falls to Cremonese in a thrilling match at Stadio Renzo Barbera
Palermo suffered a defeat against Cremonese in an exciting match played at the Stadio Renzo Barbera in Palermo on March 14th, 2025, corresponding to matchday 30 of Serie B. Despite a higher goal-scoring efficiency, Cremonese dominated possession (58%) compared to Palermo’s 42%.
The game was marked by a large number of yellow cards, five for Palermo (Ceccaroni, Brunori, Verre, Diakite and Vasic) and two for Cremonese (Azzi and Bianchetti).
Goals in the second half decided the match. Claudio Gomes opened the scoring for Palermo in the 56th minute. Minutes later, Brunori extended the lead for the home side with a penalty in the 71st minute. However, Cremonese reacted strongly. Azzi pulled one back in the 74th minute, and later Valoti in the 86th and Collocolo in the 90th sealed the comeback for the visitors.
Cremonese created more goal-scoring opportunities, with 18 shots (6 on target), while Palermo had 10 (3 on target). Possession and a higher number of shots on target translated into a victory for Cremonese, who won 2-3 against a Palermo side that fought until the end.
