Cruz Azul Thrashes Seattle Sounders in CONCACAF Champions League Round of 16
Mexico City, March 12, 2025.- Cruz Azul dominated their CONCACAF Champions League Round of 16 first leg match against the Seattle Sounders, winning 4-1 in a thrilling encounter at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario. The match was officiated by Oshane Nation from Jamaica.
The home team, possessing 60% of the ball, showcased their dominance from the start. Carlos Rodriguez opened the scoring in the 33rd minute with an assist from Gustavo Piovi. However, the first half saw yellow cards for Rotondi and Rodriguez himself.
