Northampton Town suffered a 3-2 defeat against Leyton Orient in a thrilling match played at the Gaughan Group Stadium in London on March 8th, 2025, corresponding to matchday 36 of League One. Despite superior shot numbers (15 to 7), the visitors prevailed thanks to greater efficiency.
Northampton opened the scoring with a goal from T. Roberts in the 11th minute, assisted by T. Taylor. C. McGeehan extended the lead before halftime (45th minute). However, Leyton Orient reacted in the second half. C. Kelman scored two goals (60th and 46th minutes, the latter after coming on as a substitute), sealing the comeback for his team. J. Simpson of Leyton Orient received a yellow card in the 44th minute. Although Northampton dominated shots on target (6 vs 2), Leyton Orient’s greater possession (59%) and better finishing proved decisive for the final result. The referee of the match was A. Chilowicz.
