Olympique de Marseille secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Nantes at the Orange Vélodrome, refereed by Stephanie Frappart of France. The match, part of the 2024 Ligue 1, round 24, saw Marseille dominate possession (75%) and shots (20 to 8). While Marseille had a goal disallowed for offside in the 13th minute (Rabiot), they controlled the game. The first half saw a yellow card for Marseille’s Hojbjerg (37′). The second half started with another yellow, this time for Nantes’ Amian (51′). Marseille broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute with a goal from Gouiri, assisted by Rongier. Greenwood added a second just two minutes later, sealing the victory. Nantes, with two further yellow cards (Amian and Leroux), ultimately succumbed to Marseille’s dominance. Despite the scoreline, both teams created chances, but Marseille proved more clinical.
