Vancouver Whitecaps defeat Deportivo Saprissa in thrilling encounter
Vancouver, Canada – Vancouver Whitecaps FC defeated Deportivo Saprissa 2-0 in a thrilling CONCACAF Champions League 2025 first-round match played at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia on February 28th. Despite Saprissa having more shots (15 to 11), the Whitecaps’ possession dominance (64%) proved crucial. Brian White was the star, scoring two goals, one in the 47th minute and another in the 90th. Saprissa managed only one shot on target. The match saw a yellow card issued to D. Guzman of Saprissa in the 26th minute. The referee was Adonai Escobedo Gonzalez from Mexico.
