FC Tokyo defeats Nagoya Grampus in thrilling encounter at Ajinomoto Stadium
Chōfu, Japan – In a vibrant match played at the Ajinomoto Stadium in Chōfu, Japan, FC Tokyo defeated Nagoya Grampus 3-1 in the third round of the 2025 J1 League. The match, refereed by Takafumi Mikuriya, was marked by intensity and alternating dominance.
FC Tokyo took the lead in the 31st minute with a goal from K. Yamashita, assisted by K. Sato. Sato extended the lead for the home team in the 59th minute, scoring an unassisted goal. Nagoya Grampus managed to reduce the deficit in the 64th minute with a goal from K. Shiihashi, assisted by Y. Yamagishi. However, FC Tokyo sealed the victory with a goal from S. Anzai in the 90th minute.
Despite Nagoya Grampus controlling 65% of possession and taking 11 shots (7 on target), FC Tokyo’s effectiveness, with 35% possession and 12 shots (7 on target), was key to the victory. Both teams finished with one yellow card each.
