Fortaleza FC falls to Rionegro Águilas in a card-filled match
Bogotá, D.C. – In a vibrant match played at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo, Rionegro Águilas defeated Fortaleza FC 2-1 in the fifth round of the Colombian Primera A. The match, officiated by Carlos Ortega, was marked by high tension, reflected in the large number of yellow cards shown.
Rionegro Águilas dominated possession (57%) and, although they generated fewer shots (7 vs Fortaleza FC’s 10), were more effective in converting them. Fortaleza FC opened the scoring with a penalty converted by E. Aristizábal in the 22nd minute. However, Rionegro Águilas responded quickly, equalizing the match in the 47th minute with a goal from C.
