Central Córdoba defeats Newell’s in a thrilling match
Santiago del Estero, February 7, 2025 – Central Córdoba defeated Newell’s Old Boys 2-0 in a match played at the Estadio Alfredo Terrera, corresponding to the fourth matchday of the initial phase of the 2025 Argentine Professional League. The match, refereed by Fernando Espinoza, was marked by tension and expulsions in the final minutes.
The opening goal came in the 36th minute through a goal by Leonardo Heredia, assisted by Lucas Angulo. Newell’s dominated possession (55%), but Central Córdoba was more effective in attack, generating 17 shots, 8 of them on target.
