Instituto de Córdoba and Godoy Cruz played a thrilling match at the Estadio Juan Domingo Perón in Córdoba, Argentina, for matchday 27 of the 2024 Argentine Professional League’s second phase. The match, refereed by Brian Ferreyra, ended with a 2-3 victory for Godoy Cruz.
Instituto took the lead in the 13th minute with a goal from F. Suárez, assisted by G. A. Lodico. Godoy Cruz quickly equalized in the 17th minute through M. Mendoza, assisted by J. Pérez. The first half concluded with two yellow cards for Instituto, shown to L. Carrera and F. R. Alarcón.
In the second half, Godoy Cruz took control. While S. Rodríguez missed a penalty in the 53rd minute, he quickly made amends by scoring a goal in the 58th minute. Finally, M. Pino secured the victory for Godoy Cruz with a goal in the 86th minute, assisted by D. Barrea.
Despite the defeat, Instituto dominated possession (52%) and had more shots (14 to 13), although Godoy Cruz was more effective on target (6 shots on goal to 5).
