Bayern Munich Crushes Shakhtar Donetsk in Gelsenkirchen
Gelsenkirchen, Germany – Bayern Munich secured a dominant 6-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in their final UEFA Champions League group stage match on December 10th, 2024, at the VELTINS-Arena. Bayern’s control of the game was evident throughout, reflected in their 65% possession compared to Shakhtar’s 35%.
Shakhtar took an early lead with a goal from Kevin (assisted by O. Zubkov) in the 5th minute. However, Bayern quickly responded. K. Laimer equalized in the 11th minute (assisted by M. Olise), and before halftime, Müller (45th minute, assisted by Musiala) put Bayern ahead.
