Real Oviedo defeated Racing Ferrol with a resounding 5-1 victory in a thrilling match played at the Estadio Municipal de A Malata in Ferrol. Despite slightly lower possession (48% vs 52%), Oviedo demonstrated greater offensive efficiency, shooting 27 times on goal (13 on target) compared to Racing Ferrol’s 7 (2 on target).
The match started with Oviedo taking the initiative. Sergio Cazorla opened the scoring in the 42nd minute with a penalty. In the second half, Oviedo extended their lead with a goal from L. Ahijado in the 52nd minute and another from F. Portillo in the 63rd, the latter assisted by Hassan. Racing Ferrol pulled one back with a penalty scored by A. Giménez in the 87th minute.
