Galaxy Triumphs Over Red Bulls in Thrilling MLS Cup Final
Carson, California – In a thrilling encounter at Dignity Health Sports Park before a passionate crowd, Los Angeles Galaxy claimed the 2024 MLS Cup title, defeating New York Red Bulls 2-1.
The match started with a flurry of early goals. At the 9th minute, J. Paintsil opened the scoring for the Galaxy, and just four minutes later, D. Joveljic doubled the lead with a clinical finish. The Red Bulls responded in the 28th minute with a goal from S. Nealis, narrowing the gap and setting up a tense finish.
Despite New York Red Bulls’ superior possession (58% to Galaxy’s 42%), Los Angeles proved more clinical in attack, registering 11 shots (6 on target) compared to the Red Bulls’ 9 shots (3 on target).
