Minerva Punjab secured a narrow 2-0 victory over Mohammedan Sporting in a match played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi as part of matchday 11 of the 2024 Indian Super League season. The game, officiated by Harish Kundu, was characterized by Mohammedan’s superior possession (62%), which however, did not translate into offensive effectiveness, with only one shot on target compared to Minerva’s 5. The goals arrived in the second half: Luka Majcen opened the scoring in the 58th minute and Filip Mrzljak sealed the win in the 66th, assisted by Eduardo Vidal. The match was intense, with a total of 25 fouls and 6 yellow cards, 3 for each team. Despite their territorial dominance, a lack of precision in attack condemned Mohammedan to defeat. Minerva, on the other hand, demonstrated efficiency in the few chances they created.
