FC Goa defeats Hyderabad FC in thrilling encounter
FC Goa secured a 2-0 victory over Hyderabad FC in a captivating match at the GMC Balayogi Stadium in Hyderabad on December 4th, 2024. This Indian Super League Round 11 encounter saw Goa control 53% of possession despite Hyderabad registering significantly more shots (23 to 13).
The goals arrived in the second half. Udanta Singh broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute, assisted by Mohammed Yasir. Iñigo Guarrotxena doubled the lead in the 44th minute, thanks to Alberto Sadiku’s assist. While Hyderabad had more shots on target (7 to 4), they were unable to convert their chances. The match was a physical affair, with a total of 15 fouls (4 by Hyderabad FC and 11 by FC Goa) and two yellow cards issued to Hyderabad FC players (P.S. Shrivas and Edu Bedia Correia). Despite Hyderabad’s dominance in shots, Goa’s clinical finishing secured a convincing win.
