Al-Wasl FC Edges Al-Rayyan SC 2-0 in Thrilling AFC Champions League Match
Dubai, December 2nd, 2024 – Al-Wasl FC secured a 2-0 victory over Al-Rayyan SC in a captivating AFC Champions League Group Stage match at the Zabeel Stadion in Dubai. The game, part of the sixth matchday of the 2024 tournament, was a tense affair, resulting in six yellow cards. Al-Wasl dominated possession with 54%, registering 16 shots (8 on target) and 4 corner kicks. Al-Rayyan managed 8 shots (2 on target) and 7 corner kicks.
A goal disallowed for a foul in the 25th minute for Al-Wasl, and an own goal by S. Awad in the 86th minute, proved crucial moments. However, the decisive goal arrived in the 77th minute, courtesy of Caio Canedo, assisted by Jonas Santos. Despite Al-Rayyan’s efforts, Al-Wasl’s defensive solidity and clinical finishing secured the win. The match was officiated by Muhammad Taqi from Singapore.
