Levante Mounts Comeback to Defeat Burgos in Thrilling Match
Valencia, December 1st, 2024.- Levante UD defeated Burgos CF 3-1 in a hard-fought match at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia, corresponding to matchday 17 of the Segunda División. The game, officiated by Rafael Sánchez López, was characterized by its evenness and excitement until the very end.
Burgos took the lead in the 20th minute with a goal from Curro, assisted by Alex. However, Levante responded quickly and equalized in the 35th minute with a goal from J. Morales. The second half saw a back-and-forth battle, with Levante becoming more incisive in the final stages. From the 75th minute onwards, the home team made the difference thanks to a brilliant performance by C. Espi, who scored two goals in the final fifteen minutes, one in the 84th and another in the 90th, assisted by A. Garcia and S. Lozano respectively.
Despite Burgos having more possession (51%), Levante was more effective in front of goal, with 9 shots (3 on target) compared to Burgos’ 8 (3 on target). Burgos committed more fouls (11) than Levante (9). Both teams finished the game without any yellow or red cards. An exciting match reflecting the equality and competitiveness of the Segunda División.
