Sagan Tosu Dominates Nagoya Grampus in Gifu Thriller
Sagan Tosu secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Nagoya Grampus at Nagaragawa Stadium in Gifu, Japan, in a J1 League matchday 37 clash. Referee Koji Takasaki oversaw the game, which saw Sagan Tosu triumph despite Nagoya Grampus enjoying a significant possession advantage (65%).
Sagan Tosu displayed clinical finishing, scoring three goals from just eight attempts, five of which were on target. V. Slivka opened the scoring in the 8th minute, assisted by A. Fukuta. H. Nakahara added two more goals, one in the 10th minute and another in the 67th. Nagoya Grampus, while generating more shots (19), only managed four on target. One of their goals was disallowed for offside in the 45th minute.
Despite Sagan Tosu’s high number of fouls (18), they only received one yellow card, while Nagoya Grampus remained unscathed. Nagoya Grampus’s territorial dominance, reflected in their possession statistics, ultimately failed to translate into goals, highlighting Sagan Tosu’s superior efficiency in front of goal.
