Real Betis suffered an unexpected defeat against Mladá Boleslav in the fourth matchday of the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage, played at the Lokotrans Aréna in Mladá Boleslav on November 28th, 2024. The match, refereed by Daniel Schlager from Germany, ended with a 2-1 score in favor of the Czech team.
Betis started well, with a goal from Guido Lo Celso in the 17th minute. However, Mladá Boleslav reacted strongly in the second half, scoring two goals in quick succession: Vojta in the 51st minute and Vydra in the 55th minute. Despite having more possession (58%) and a similar number of shots (14 to 18), the Czech team’s efficiency proved decisive. Lo Celso’s red card in the 89th minute further complicated matters for Real Betis. Both teams saw several yellow cards, two for each side, while Lo Celso received a red card for Betis.
