Bilbao, November 28, 2024 – Athletic Club dominated IF Elfsborg with a convincing 3-0 victory in their UEFA Europa League Group Stage matchday 5 clash at San Mamés Stadium. The home side controlled possession (70%) and unleashed 18 shots on goal, 6 of which were on target.
Goals arrived at key moments throughout the match. At the 6th minute, A. Boiro, assisted by G. Guruzeta, broke the deadlock. B. Prados Diaz doubled the lead at the 24th minute, assisted by N. Williams. Finally, G. Guruzeta sealed the victory at the 54th minute, assisted by A. Boiro.
IF Elfsborg offered little threat to the Athletic Club goal, managing only 2 shots, none of them on target. The match highlighted Athletic’s superiority, also reflected in their corner count (10-0) and fouls committed (13-12). Both teams received one yellow card each.
