Selangor suffered a defeat against Muangthong United in a match played at the MBPJ Stadium in Petaling Jaya on November 28th, 2024, corresponding to the group stage of the 2024 AFC Cup. The match, which ended with a 1-3 scoreline, was characterized by Muangthong United’s greater possession of the ball (59%). Selangor opened the scoring in the 5th minute thanks to a goal by Q. Cheng, but Muangthong United responded with goals from F. Brown in the 53rd minute and P. Arjvirai in the 76th minute, the latter assisted by A. Otakhonov. Muangthong United sealed the victory with a third goal. Despite having more shots (11 to 1), Selangor failed to capitalize on their opportunities, only managing 2 on target.
