Al Wakrah and Tractor Sazi Fight to a Thrilling 3-3 Draw in AFC Cup Clash
Dubai, November 27, 2024 – Al Wakrah and Tractor Sazi battled to a pulsating 3-3 draw in a Group Stage – 5 match of the 2024 AFC Cup at the Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai. The match, refereed by Ryo Tanimoto of Japan, was a closely contested affair with both teams enjoying 50% possession.
Al Wakrah took an early lead through R. Gomes in the 4th minute, assisted by F. Boulaya. Tractor Sazi responded before halftime with a goal from A. Hosseinzadeh (45th minute), assisted by R. Alves. Al Wakrah extended their lead in the second half with goals from A. Ali (52nd minute) and Gelson Dala (69th minute), the latter assisted by Lucas Mendes. However, Tractor Sazi fought back strongly, scoring twice through M. Hashemnejad (75th and 87th minutes) to secure a dramatic 3-3 draw. Al Wakrah had the edge in terms of shots, registering 11 (4 on target) compared to Tractor Sazi’s 5 (3 on target).
