Lyon Dominates Roma with a 5-1 Victory in Women’s Champions League
Décines-Charpieu, France – Olympique Lyon Féminin secured a commanding 5-1 victory over AS Roma on Wednesday, November 20th, at the Groupama Stadium in a UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage match. Despite a slightly higher possession percentage for Lyon (52% to 48%), the match was defined by the French team’s clinical finishing.
Roma held their own for much of the game, but Dragoni’s goal in the 74th minute (assisted by Thogersen) proved insufficient to counter Lyon’s offensive firepower. Diani shone with a brace (77th and 79th minutes), capitalizing on assists from Gilles and Svava, respectively.
